Accessories for the GE MAC2000 Electrocardiograph: Battery 2066261-085, Keyboard 2066261-008 and ECG Cables

Accessories for the GE MAC2000 portable electrocardiograph: high-capacity battery, AHA/IEC keyboard and ECG cable set. Compatibility and replacement.

The GE MAC2000 is a portable 12-channel electrocardiograph, one of the most common in cardiology rooms of Russian clinics and hospitals. It combines compactness (weight ~5 kg with battery), a large color display and a built-in thermal printer for printing ECGs. It runs on mains power or on battery, which allows examinations at the patient's bedside.

Three accessories most often require replacement during the device's life cycle — the battery, the keyboard and the ECG cable set. Let us look at their purpose, signs that replacement is needed and selection rules.

1. Why these accessories are needed

2066261-085 — high-capacity battery. Provides autonomous operation of the MAC2000 for up to 6-8 hours at a typical clinical workload (50-60 ECGs per day). Without a battery, the device is tied to a power outlet and unsuitable for on-site examinations.

2066261-008 — keyboard kit. Protective rubber panel + main keyboard PCB. It is subject to wear during active use: the buttons lose tactile response, crack, and disinfectant gets inside.

2104749-001 — ECG cable set (Base 10 Grabber, AHA). 10 leads with clamp electrodes for connection to the patient. The most wearable accessory — daily connection/disconnection leads to broken conductors, oxidized contacts and cracked insulation.

4. When to replace

Battery 2066261-085: When the number of reports printed on a single charge drops below 100 (originally ~250), or if the device switches off after 30-60 minutes of printing. Also in case of swelling or electrolyte odor.

Keyboard 2066261-008: When the tactile response of the buttons is lost (the silicone membrane is worn), when liquid gets inside (disinfectant, saline), when the rubber buttons crack with age (3+ years).

ECG cables 2104749-001: When "motion artifacts" appear in the ECG record while the patient is still (broken conductor), when the clamp contacts oxidize (even after cleaning), when the insulation cracks (especially at the bend points near the connector).

5. Common mistakes

Using a standard 12V battery instead of 2066261-085. The MAC2000 requires 14.4V — installing a 12V battery will cause an error on power-up and rapid discharge.

Replacing only the rubber panel without the PCB. If the buttons have lost response due to wear of the silicone "domes", replacing only the panel will not help — the entire kit 2066261-008 must be replaced.

Using IEC cables without switching the standard in the settings. If an IEC set is connected to the MAC2000 without changing the standard in Setup → System → Lead Standard, the leads will be inverted (I becomes II, II becomes III). The ECG diagnosis will be incorrect.

Disinfecting cables with alcohol-containing solutions. Isopropyl alcohol degrades PVC insulation over time. Use only mild disinfectants based on quaternary ammonium (for example, Incidin).

6. Where to buy

Frequently asked questions

How long does the MAC2000 battery last?
A new battery at full charge can print about 250 standard ECG reports continuously (a typical clinical workload of 6-8 hours). If there is a marked drop in endurance (< 100 reports), it is time to replace it.
What is included in keyboard kit 2066261-008?
It includes 1 complete rubber key panel + the main keyboard PCB control board, covering all letter, number and function keys. Installation requires opening the top housing of the device (4 screws) and can be done by a regular engineer.
Is there a difference between AHA and IEC leadwires?
The color coding differs: AHA (US standard) = white/black/red/yellow/green; IEC (European standard) = red/yellow/green/brown/black. The color order is reversed, but the electrode positions are the same. The GE MAC2000 supports both — switching is done in the system settings. AHA is common in North America and in China and Russia, IEC is common in the EU.
How many leads does 2104749-001 include?
10 leadwires (Base 10 Grabber, grabber type), covering a complete 12-lead ECG (I, II, III, aVR, aVL, aVF, V1-V6). Grabber electrodes allow quick connection and work with the MAC2000 one-button start of 12-lead acquisition.
Where can MAC2000 accessories be bought?
You can place an order by contacting MediAccessori via Telegram @GEpartsV_bot. Just provide the last 4 digits of the MAC2000 serial number when ordering.
